State & local government communities of interest in IT and business:  IT leaders; executive branch management; chief financial officers and accounting; Human resource managers; agency business leaders; legislative branch; public safety community; judicial community;  commerce staff; OCIO policy; contracts staff; and security staff.

Abstract of Seminar Contents:

Blockchain is touted as the next IT disruption since the Internet and it isn’t just about cryptocurrency. The technology has the potential for a myriad of government business application – everything from financial services, healthcare, mobile payments, public safety, election voting, smart contracts vital records and so on.

This session will provide government business leaders and IT leaders a foundation and common understanding for the potential use of blockchain within the government construct.  Top-level keynotes, interactive discussion, case studies in other states, and a panel will look at various industries and government challenges and opportunities that blockchain will present.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will walk away with advice on how to prepare for blockchain as it evolves.  There will be lessons learned, best practices, standards, legislation and regulation all in time.
