Leadership - Education - Networking

The IPMA is proud to host a number of events for the Washington state IT community. Below, you will find the opportunities that we offer throughout the year.

Professional Development Events--Throughout the Year

The purpose of Professional Development events is to provide educational and networking programs for IT and Business Professionals across both Washington State Government and the vendor community. The Professional Development Committee collaborates with IPMA Corporate Sponsors, IT vendors, and government agencies to develop customized educational and informative events. Events often include a keynote speaker, presentations, demonstrations, and interactive panel discussions on a variety of topics that align with current technology trends and initiatives. Audience members are encouraged to engage with the panel through Q&A format.

In calendar year 2022, the IPMA plans to offer up to 8 events. The planned events include a combination of virtual, hybrid, and in person to offer a variety of venues to access information and networking.

LeaderPath Program--Biannually

The IPMA develops and offers the leadership development program exclusively for IT and business managers in WA state government. Its focus is on the day-to-day and long-term strategic challenges of creating, collaborating with, and often times, leading agency and interagency IT initiatives.

The LeaderPath course offers an intensive learning opportunity for leadership professionals. Participants focus on public sector leadership using case studies, group exercises, mock presentation, personal evaluations and panel discussions with experts to create a highly participatory and multidimensional learning environment. Participants will also understand how to "sit at the table" with other agency executives and influence the decisions that are made.
